Why are musician prices bespoke for weddings?
• Quotations are made based on your requirements which could range from 30 minutes of live performance during the ceremony - up to performing several sets including the Ceremony and the First Dance.
• Friday and Saturdays are prime time for professional musicians who are in high demand from hotels, corporate events, private parties, etc. Events that are less time consuming where you can usually arrive at 7pm one hour before performing and be on the way home at 10.30pm - and command a fee of £600 and upwards.
• Different size PA systems are required for large rooms and marquees. Two PA systems may be needed to cover different locations at your wedding. If you rented a PA system it would cost £200 to £1000 depending on if 1000 or 5000 watts of sound power is needed.
• You should be choosing a full-time 'professional' high quality musician for your special day. A professional who practices regularly and always sounds great. A pianist makes a great performance look easy due to hundreds of hours of practice. A great singer does the same.
• Book a musician who has people skills, is presentable, can work an audience when needed, is flexible and comes prepared for challenges and adapt to unexpected changes and delays on your wedding day.
• It may be required for the musician to meet you at the venue before the wedding and plan where to set up, assist and advise you on choosing the schedule times for the music.
